Contact

Contact view displays detailed information about the current contact as well as navigation sidebar that allows to switch between linked contacts, contact share screen and social profile search.
It is not possible to manually modify linked contact if it comes from a read only source(such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn). Use the Refresh button to fetch the latest data from the social network.
This view is split into 4 sections - title bar area with quick add, sidebar with tabs, selected tab content in the middle and bottom bar for some extra actions.
Title bar

Title bar displays the source of the currently visible contact as well as a few actions:
Return to contact list
Refresh currently visible contact. Will try to look up this contact in connected social services and automatically link them.
Update. Pulls in info from all the linked contacts and adds it to the currently visible contact(enabled only for writable sources)
Edit. Toggle edit mode.
Quick Add

Quick add allows to quickly append information to the contact without enabling the edit mode.
Cobook tries to automatically detect the information entered in the quick add and will suggest where to put it. You can override these values by selecting the appropriate type and other properties from the lookups below the quick add text field.
Navigation sidebar
Navigating through sidebar tabs can be done either by a mouse click or using keyboard shortcuts ⌘↑ and ⌘↓.
Sidebar will have a tab for each linked contact with an icon depicting the source they originated from.
Share tab can be used to selectively pick the data that you want to share with someone and you can either copy it to clipboard or create a formatted email directly from Cobook.
Greyed out tabs indicate that there is either a social network available to search this contact on(Facebook in the screenshot) or a writable source that this contact can be copied to(eg - contact is in iCloud but not in Google).
Contact contents

Contact contents display all the information that is available for the currently selected tab(linked contact) with a few additional perks:
- You can import/export or pick a picture from a linked contact by clicking on it. You can also drop an image on the picture to change it immediately.
- Search for all contacts in the same company by clicking on job title/company.
- Edit notes directly without switching to edit mode
- Cobook detects the timezone of phones(requires international format) and addresses and displays local time next to them
- Default applications or handlers are launched when you click email, phone, address(some of them are configurable in Settings).
- Contact creation and last update date can be seen at the very bottom.
- Contact items can be rearranged within the same section(eg - rearrange phones) using drag & drop.
- Overall contact content layout can be rearranged in Settings(eg - if you don't like notes at the top, you can move them to the bottom or hide entirely)
Contact editing

Switching on edit mode (
) adds additional controls and fields to the contact content:
- Remove button next to each removable field
- Greyed out information that is picked from a linked contact and can be added to the currently visible contact by a simply clicking Add button
- Empty fields for each property to add an entry(eg - Add Note, etc)
- Clicking either the icon in front of the field or the label above will allow to either choose or enter a custom label
